Brief History of Hickory Grove C.M.E. Church Cemetery
The first church was a log cabin made of huge logs sealed with mud. It was built across the street from the cemetery around 1891. It burned down on July 4, 1921. The church was rebuilt on two acres donated by Ebb Mays, in 16 1/2 days the new church including new benches was completed. In 1992 the dedication of a new church was held on September 13, 1992.
